How Peezy works

Dr Kush Joshi
Co-founder and Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant

Peezy transforms your phone into a personal coach. Taking you from somebody who feels they should exercise, but lacks motivation, to somebody that wants to exercise regularly and make it a key part of their life.

Our secret sauce? A focus on managing intensity i.e. at a level that you would find enjoyable. From beginners to elite-level athletes, intensity management helps build a habit, determines whether or not you enjoy an activity and prevents injury and burnout.

Getting started

Find out your fitness level

We all start from somewhere. Take our quick and fun quiz to discover your fitness starting point!

Level

Once Peezy has estimated your current fitness, you land on a level that matches a comfortable, easy intensity. This is an intensity that you can manage for a long-time i.e. more than an hour.

Information about the level

Clicking the level number takes you to the level information page. Here you can learn how many points you will collect to progress to the next level. Plus, examples of activities at this level that should be within your comfort zone.

Using Peezy

Begin an activity

To use Peezy, click the play button, select an activity (currently, walk, bike and run) and then press ‘Play’. You will need to allow notifications to record the activity.

During recording, Sally the Gecko, our friendly avatar, will change face to reflect how you should feel during the activity. You should aim to stay in the comfortable zone and avoid making Sally sweat and become red-faced! If Sally sweats and becomes red-faced you’re going too hard!

As well as giving you an indication of points and total time, Peezy monitors ‘Funtime’, which is how long you spent at the correct intensity. If you go too hard, the Funtime will be less than the total time for the activity.

You can pause or stop the recording at any time.

Progress

Once you stop a recording, you’ll see the progress you made visible on the level page. The progress you make shows that as you get fitter, the range of things you’ll enjoy doing expands. The possibility to do more things becomes a reality.
